General Manager of Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre Embarks on Her First Expat Charity Activation in Johor Bahru

Emelyn Rosales, the newly appointed General Manager of Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre, has taken her first step into the local community in a heartfelt charity activation at Persatuan Perlindungan dan Peliharaan Haiwan Tebrau Skudai – Homeless & Orphan Pets Exist (H.O.P.E) animal shelter, Pekan Nanas. This event is a part of IHG's Giving for Good Month, a global initiative aimed at making a positive impact in communities worldwide.

Originally from the Philippines, Emelyn Rosales joined the Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre team in May, bringing with her a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry. Her IHG journey began in 2021 when she served as the General Manager of Holiday Inn Baguio. Before joining the IHG family, she held key positions, including General Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing, at various renowned hotels and resorts in the Philippines and Vietnam. Her extensive sales and marketing background has made her a valuable addition to the team.

September marks IHG's Giving for Good Month, where IHG properties worldwide unite to give back to their communities. With more than 6,300 hotels in over 100 countries, IHG acknowledges the global impact it can achieve by joining hands to improve lives. This initiative is a testament to IHG's commitment to its ‘Journey to Tomorrow’ goal, aiming to positively impact the lives of 30 million people around the world.

Today, Emelyn Rosales, along with a team of 25 dedicated team members from Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre, visited Hope JB, an animal shelter dedicated to the welfare of abandoned animals. Their activities included showering the furry pals, cleaning cages, and ensuring a comfortable environment for these beloved beings. The team also spent quality time with the animals, offering them love and support. Further aiding the shelter’s noble cause, the team also donated 50 kilograms of pet food and 80 kilograms of sand for pet litter boxes.

Reflecting on her touching experience, Emelyn Rosales shared, "I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to shower love on these animals. It's my first charity event in this city since I arrived in Johor Bahru, and it has been a profoundly moving experience We often forget other living beings when we engage in acts of charity, and I hope that these actions can be a reminder to others that our compassion should extend to all creatures."
